Question 1

Is Craft Agents open source?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The craft-agents-oss repository on GitHub is the open-source core; hosted or Pro layers may be offered separately by the vendor.

Question 2

How does Craft Agents compare to Claude Desktop?

Accepted Answer

Both offer local-ish agent chat. Craft Agents emphasizes MCP plus file workflows and an extensible OSS core rather than a single-vendor model lock-in.

Question 3

Do I need MCP servers to use Craft Agents?

Accepted Answer

MCP is a first-class path for tools and data. You can start with basic chat, but the product shines when you attach MCP integrations.

Question 4

Can teams standardize on Craft Agents?

Accepted Answer

OSS allows custom builds; commercial sync and policy features are the typical upgrade path for organizations.
