Question 1

Does Pulse Local send my data anywhere?

Accepted Answer

In local mode, nothing is sent except an optional check for app updates. Your ledger, models, and questions stay on your machine. If you enable sync, transaction data passes through Pulse servers without being stored.

Question 2

How do the AI models work?

Accepted Answer

The models are downloaded once and run on your Mac. They answer questions about your spending by reading your transactions and checking the figures before showing them.

Question 3

Can I use Pulse Local outside the US?

Accepted Answer

Yes, local mode is global and supports any currency. Bank sync via Plaid only covers US banks for now, but you can import bank files in your language.

Question 4

What happens if the AI is unsure about an answer?

Accepted Answer

Pulse Local reads spending questions twice. If the two readings disagree, it says it is not sure instead of guessing, and AI answers are labeled.

Question 5

Is Pulse Local free?

Accepted Answer

The app can be used for free with all features. You also have the option to support the team by paying, but every feature is available either way.
